Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Internship OpportunityManagement and Program Analyst - Data Analyst (GS-12)U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)Planning, Analysis & Requirements Evaluation Directorate (PARE)Operations Support (OS)LOCATIONWashington, D.C.IMPORTANT NOTEThis opportunity is OUTSIDE of USAJOBS and ONLY open to DoW SkillBridge candidates who are AT LEAST 11 months AWAY from military separation to be considered and who can intern with CBP during their final 180, 120, or 90 days on active-duty.WHY 11 MONTHS?CBP can host SkillBridge interns for their final 180, 120, and/or 90 days on active-duty depending on the individual service-member’s situation. We use the time prior to their finite internship dates to complete our required HR processes that also include a 3 to 5 month (on average) full CBP Background Investigation (BI) that MUST be completed prior to internship start dates.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESApplies data management and analysis techniques to study, gather, interpret, develop, and report on CBP operational, policy, and resource data. Serves as an expert on data creation and utilization principles. Prepares a variety of analytical reports, memoranda, and technical documents on CBP issues. Specific examples include but are not limited to the following:Initiates analysis of different types of data based on observations and questions from program areas.PROJECT PLANNING: The incumbent plans, develops, coordinates, and participates in agency research programs and projects. TECHNICAL ADVICE: The incumbent provides technical advice to agency management officials as developing plans for agency programs, operations, objectives, policies, and proceduresDATA ANALYTICS INTEGRATION: Supports integration of data, methods, tools, and analytics projects aligned with CBP Enterprise Analytics priorities, with responsibility for consulting on multiple analytics, and/or simulation projects, and collaborating with related program offices within CBP organizational elements.How to ApplyEmail Jeffrey.R.Jack@cbp.dhs.gov with SUBJ: DoW – Skillbridge – PARE – OS - MPA (Data Analyst), Washington, D.C.
