What you'll do

A Nursing Assistant supports daily patient care by performing essential bedside tasks such as bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, and assisting with mobility. They take vital signs, monitor intake and output, perform blood glucose testing, apply telemetry, and help prevent hospital‑acquired conditions. As training progresses, they take on expanded clinical responsibilities including specimen collection, simple dressings, restraint support, bladder scans, IV and Foley catheter removal, phlebotomy, and safe patient transport procedures. Working under the direction of nurses and physicians, the Nursing Assistant plays a key role in maintaining patient comfort, safety, and smooth clinical operations.
