About the program

As a member of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Stakeholder Engagement Division (SED), Chemical Sector Management Team (SMT), you will work with partners across industry and government to understand and manage risk to our critical infrastructure from a constantly evolving range of cyber and physical threats. SED develops strategic and collaborative partnerships to broaden CISA’s influence, broadly share relevant information and improve coordination and integration of stakeholder relationships to enhance critical infrastructure security and resilience. This opportunity will be for 120-180 days and will expose the selectee to a broad spectrum of activities associated with critical infrastructure public and private partnership engagement including coordination and collaboration efforts pertaining to the Chemical Sector and interconnected critical infrastructure sectors. The incumbent will develop and support national policy guidance and implementation procedures; assist in the planning and facilitation of sector wide meetings, events and exercises; and develop presentations, talking points and data analysis. This position provides the selectee with the opportunity to be exposed to a wide-range of national level public-private engagement opportunities and directly influence innovative efforts aimed at mitigating risks and enhance the resilience and security of the Chemical Sector, which impact the lives of Americans every day.

What you'll do

  • Assist in the short- and long-range planning and development of plans and policies to support the implementation of the national policies.
  • Support the Chemical Sector in sector specific and cross-sector meetings, cybersecurity working groups, and key events to improve awareness within CISA and increase overall knowledge of each sector’s unique cybersecurity and infrastructure security environments.
  • Coordinate relevant information sharing opportunities across the sector on topics of interest ranging from supply chain resilience, cybersecurity IT-OT threats, artificial intelligence implications for critical infrastructure, unmanned arial systems threats and protection measures, and others.
  • Identify and assess sector-based risk; facilitate the development and implementation of risk mitigation initiatives; coordinate education, training and security exercises; ensure that security information is communicated efficiently and effectively; and carry out important incident management functions.
  • Supports a wide variety of detailed analyses on complex functions and activities related to supporting stakeholder management and the national public-private partnership model. Identifies and proposes solutions to strategic problems that are of major importance to planning and program direction.
