Safety & Occupational Health Specialist (Fire Safety Officer (FSO))

What you'll do

. Responsible for ensuring fire prevention and safety compliance during assignedavailabilities.. Conducts unplanned events/mishap investigations on shipboard fire related incidentsand completes detailed associated report.. Ensures compliance with contractual requirements, NAVSEA Standard Items, SERMCLocal Standard Items, Navy Instructions, and OSHA laws and regulations.. Monitors ship conditions, reviews work and test plans that affect fire safety.. Maintain knowledge and administrative control of shipboard fire safety conditions andsystems to support the preparation, issuance, and maintenance of the Ship Plan of Day(SPOD).. Leads the Fire Safety Council (FSC) for assigned availabilities.. Prepares and conducts briefings, training and/or meetings as required (i.e. Fire SafetyWatch Training, Firefighting Conferences, FSCs).. Performs other related duties as assigned.
