Program Description

This position functions within the Division of Administration at Reconstruction Era National Historical Park. The work involves assisting staff with major and minor applying IT systems configuration principles, methods, and practices. This work serves to monitor and troubleshoot IT systems, software, and equipment while assisting staff with troubleshooting and change requests.

Job Description

IT Analyst - Provides assistance and support for assignments and projects relative to the configuration of IT systems also known as systems administration. Performs routine and recurring assignments independently or supporting higher graded specialists, identifying and resolving recurring and routine issues and problems as they arise. Performs the following major duties associated with this work: Supports, and documents IT Systems configuration. Provides assistance with authoring and executing detailed test plans. Aids in the preparation of change requests and configuration management submissions. Monitors and troubleshoots IT systems availability. Maintains version control of all operating systems and standard supported software as they become available. Corrects security vulnerabilities in assigned systems in response to problems identified in vulnerability reports. Provides routine advice and guidance to customers requesting information on established policy or procedures, including those related to information security. Installs, configures, and tests software on customer workstations; and installs, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots hardware and software components. Performs other duties as assigned.
