About the program

Alaska Air Transit's Ramp Agent & Flight Coordinator Skill Bridge opportunities allow the participant to receive job training that will equip him/her for employment as a flight line Ramp Agent with a growth path to leadership, or as a Flight Coordinator (Part 135 equivalent of a flight dispatcher) at Alaska Air Transit or other FAA Part 135 air carrier.

What you'll do

Ramp Agent: Aircraft tugging, aircraft fueling, forklift operation, and freight handling including heavy lifting, and aircraft loading. Flight Coordinator: Pre-departure coordination between multiple departments involved in flight dispatch process, pre-departure weather evaluation and fight risk assessment, shared responsibility with Pilot in Command for dispatch decision, monitoring and supporting underway flights using satellite tracking and messaging, advising pilots of changes in weather and flight hazards.
