About the program

The Gulfstream Aerospace DoD SkillBridge program offers internship opportunities for Active Duty Service Members of all branches for up to 180 days prior to their separation. Our program is not limited to specific positions and includes a wide variety of internships for all levels of experience and technical backgrounds. Upon successful completion of the internship, the candidate will be considered for direct employment. Through this program, we're able to work directly with those considering their next step after military service. What you'll do

Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. 2+ years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) and/or A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required. Valid Driver’s License required.Purpose: Under close supervision, perform or assist with various functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components to ensure proper operation. Perform basic aircraft maintenance and perform troubleshooting and repair duties.Avionics Electrical Technician - Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. 5 years experience in an avionics/electrical career field. 2 years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics may offset two years of experience requirement. A & P license, FCC license or NCATT certification preferred.Purpose: Provides technical expertise while performing various operational, functional tests and repairs of avionics/electronic, aircraft equipment and systems to ensure a defect free aircraft. Provides superior technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to ensure minimum schedule impact. Demonstrates technical expertise and y defining and implementing process changes to reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising Safety or Quality.Structural Mechanic-Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years related structural assembly experience. Purpose: In a team oriented work environment, under minimal supervision, performs a variety of structural assembly operations in a production department following established operating procedures. All work performed should be in accordance with company design specifications, quality standards and completed work should meet customer expectations.Aircraft Component Repair Technician-Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Able to interpret blueprints, engrg docs and use precision measuring tools. Proficient operation of all tools/equip in the dept incl glass bead & carboblast machines. Must possess basic understanding of shop math. 2 years experience in one of the following or other related experience: Sheetmetal, hydraulic overhaul, electrical/electronic harness buildup, electrical systems troubleshooting, battery servicing, APU removal, installation, and servicing.Purpose: Under moderate supervision, repair and overhaul internal and external aircraft assemblies, subassemblies and components in accordance with Gulfstream Repair Station requirements.
