Program Description

Mission: Learn the basics of the retail financial services industry and study for and pass registration examinations. A FA Trainee shall have a set time period within which to obtain the necessary registrations and graduate to an FA Associate.

Major Responsibilities:Attend in-house training sessions on various topics including, but not limited to, products and services, building a book of business, Janney systems, practice management and compliance Begin to develop a business planAttend client meetings with Financial Advisors Perform clerical and administrative functions as directed by Financial AdvisorsAt the direction and under the tutelage of Financial Advisors and Branch Office Managers, may assist in client profiling, identifying client objectives and risk tolerance, and preparing recommendations and advice Begin to develop knowledge of financial products and markets and the regulatory landscapeStudy for and pass the Series 7 examination, the Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65) examination, and any state insurance examinations required by the Branch Office Managers Requirements and Qualifications: Obtain Series 7, 63 and 65, or 66, Insurance License within designated time periodUndergraduate Degree preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong written and oral communication skills requiredCritical thinking skillsHigh ethical standard
