This Skillbridge opportunity will allow you to participate in the Norman Police Academy during the end of your enlistment. In order to participate, you will need to submit an application on NewNormanCops.com, get Skillbridge approval through your chain-of-command, and successfully complete the hiring process.

Job Description

Upon your appointment as a Police Recruit with the Norman Police Department, you will begin the Norman Police Academy. The 26-week academy is an intensive training program that exceeds the minimum standards set forth by the Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET). Police cadets are paid employees receiving full salary and benefits while attending the academy. All uniforms and equipment are provided. Academy training includes classroom instruction and practical field exercises on subjects ranging from criminal law to self-defense. Successful graduates will enter patrol field training after completion of the academy.
