About the program
The Intermediate Care Technician (ICT) SkillBridge is a Program for former military combat medics, medical technicians, and hospital corpsmen to operate in the Emergency Department. This position serves as an advanced technician for patients who are present for treatment within the VA Healthcare System. ICTs operate within clearly defined clinical competencies. These tasks are not all inclusive and require demonstrating appropriate training and documented competence prior to their performance. The ICT intern may assist with or perform other related approved technical health care procedures in the Emergency Department under the direction and supervision of licensed personnel as training and competency is demonstrated and documented.
What you'll do
The ICT SkillBridge Program can lead to a fundamental knowledge, background and experience in emergency medicine, critical care, medical readiness, field medicine, bedside care, womens health, and primary care.

4NOX - Basic Medical Technician, 4NOIC - Independent Duty Medical Technician, X4NO - Aeromedical Evacuation Technician, 1T2X1 - Pararescueman, 68W - Combat Medic Specialist, 18D - Army Special Forces (Medic), 68WW1 - Special Operations Flight Medic, HM0000 - Basic Hospital Corpsman, HM8404 - Field Medical Service Technician, HM8425 - Surface Force Independent Duty Corpsman, HM8402 - Submarine Force Independent Duty Corpsman, HM8401 - Search and Rescue Medical Technician, HM8403 - Fleet Marine Force Reconnaissance Independent Duty Corpsman, HM8406 - Aerospace Medical Technician, and HS - Basic Health Services Technician.
Applicants must have command approval, submit a current resume and will be asked to provide their latest performance evaluation and a Statement of Service after their application has been reviewed. Interns must have a medical background as enlisted allied health professionals and possess the Military Occupational Specialty job code within the 4NO, 68W, or HM occupational series.
