About the program

The objective of this program is to prepare the participant to perform supervised AI security research and red-team activities that emulate real-world threats and strengthen defensive security. The intern will develop practical skills in AI/LLM threat research, agentic testing, vulnerability research, penetration-testing methodology, MITRE ATT&CK mapping, adversary simulation, WAF/EDR/SIEM efficacy testing, purple teaming, detection validation, incident-response exercises, cross-functional security collaboration, GRC control-effectiveness evidence, and executive risk communication.

What you'll do

As an AI Security Research & Red Team Engineer you will support supervised security research and adversary-emulation activities within Cloudflare's Security Threat Detection, Response and Emulation organization. Training will focus on AI- and LLM-specific vulnerability research, agentic testing, red-team operations, security-efficacy validation, purple teaming, detection engineering, incident-response exercises, Product Engineering/SRE collaboration, GRC control validation, and risk-based technical reporting.
