Accountant
About the program
The Accountant performs general and contract-specific accounting for CGINTL: month-end close, account reconciliation, job cost accounting, contract billing across multiple contract types and vehicles, accounts payable and receivable, and support of indirect rate development and audit readiness. The role requires working knowledge of both GAAP and the government cost accounting requirements of FAR Part 31, and supports CGINTL's ability to demonstrate an adequate accounting system.
What you'll do
- Execute month-end close: journal entries, accruals, prepaid amortization, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Maintain job cost accounting: labor distribution, timekeeping compliance, direct and indirect cost segregation, and project-level cost tracking across federal, state, commercial, and international engagements.
- Prepare and submit contract invoices by contract type (FFP milestone, T&M, cost-reimbursable) through WAWF/iRAPT, IPP, GSA portals, eMaryland Marketplace, and commercial client portals; resolve rejections.
- Perform accounts payable: vendor setup, three-way match, subcontractor invoice processing, and expense report review against FAR 31 allowability and JTR/GSA per diem limits.
- Perform accounts receivable and collections; maintain unbilled and aged receivable analyses.
- Support indirect rate development: pool and base maintenance, provisional and actual rate calculation, and variance monitoring.
- Support the annual incurred cost submission, the financial statement audit or review, and any DCAA or DCMA request.
- Maintain internal controls and documentation supporting an adequate accounting system under DFARS 252.242-7006, and maintain finance procedures under the CGINTL ISO 9001 quality management system.
- Support GSA Industrial Funding Fee reporting and small business certification financial data requirements.Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent experience. Military finance, disbursing, budget, or comptroller experience directly qualifies.
- Working knowledge of double-entry accounting and the ability to build and defend a reconciliation.
- Advanced Excel: lookups, pivots, conditional logic, and large data sets.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust determination or higher. All CGINTL positions require, at minimum, a favorable Public Trust determination; certain contracts and client sites require a Secret clearance, and CGINTL may sponsor eligible personnel.Preferred
- Experience with Unanet (CGINTL's accounting and project cost system of record) or a comparable government contract ERP such as Deltek Costpoint, JAMIS, or QuickBooks GovCon.
- CPA eligibility, CDFM, or progress toward CMA.
- Prior exposure to DCAA audit support or incurred cost submissions.
