About the program
The DoW SkillBridge internship program with Delaware Nation Industries (DNI) provides transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple information technology disciplines in a real-world government contracting environment.DNI is a DoW SkillBridge Industry Partner supporting federal customers including the Department of Defense and other agencies, delivering solutions across enterprise IT, cybersecurity, and mission support services.This program is designed to bridge military experience into civilian IT careers through structured training, mentorship, and practical application, with potential for full-time employment upon completion.Internship Tracks / Functional AreasParticipants may rotate through or specialize in one or more of the following IT areas:Help Desk / IT SupportProvide Tier 1–2 technical support to end usersTroubleshoot hardware, software, and network issuesDocument incidents using ticketing systemsSupport user account management and system accessSystems AdministrationAssist with administration of Windows/Linux environmentsManage user accounts, permissions, and group policies (e.g., Active Directory)Perform system maintenance, patching, and monitoringSupport virtualization and cloud-based environmentsNetwork EngineeringAssist with configuration and maintenance of network infrastructureMonitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issuesWork with routers, switches, firewalls, and secure communicationsSupport implementation of cybersecurity best practicesSoftware DevelopmentParticipate in software design, development, and testingWork with modern programming languages and frameworksSupport DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systemsContribute to automation and scripting effortsCybersecurity / Information AssuranceAssist with vulnerability assessments and system hardeningSupport compliance with DoD security standardsMonitor systems for security incidents and anomaliesKey ResponsibilitiesGain hands-on experience in a production IT environment supporting federal missionsApply technical skills to real-world projects and operational tasksCollaborate with cross-functional teams and senior technical staffParticipate in training, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing sessionsDevelop professional skills for transition into civilian IT careersRequirementsBasic QualificationsActive secret clearance (or higher)Active IAT II certification (Security+) or higherActive Duty Service Member eligible for DoD SkillBridgeWithin 180 days of separation or retirementCommand approval for participationOther Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
