About the program

Los Alamos National Laboratory’s (LANL) Radiation Protection Division provides the expertise, capabilities, services, support, and oversight necessary to enable the Laboratory’s programmatic missions while ensuring radiological work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations and the LANL Radiation Protection Program.Through the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program, the Radiation Protection Division is seeking transitioning service members interested in applying their military training, technical skills, and experience to careers in radiation protection. Opportunities may include Radiological Control Technicians, Health Physicists, Dosimetrists, Radiological Engineers, Sampling Technicians, Calibration Technicians, and more.

What you'll do

SkillBridge participants will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced professionals in a highly technical and mission-focused environment. Depending on the opportunity, participants may support radiological monitoring and controls, radiation protection instrumentation and calibration, dosimetry, radiological engineering, sampling and analysis, technical assessments, and other activities that help protect workers and support the safe execution of Laboratory operations.

Eligibility

Candidates with backgrounds in nuclear operations, radiation protection, CBRNE, health physics, engineering, electronics, instrumentation and controls, calibration, maintenance, technical operations, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Must be willing to relocate to Los Alamos, NM
