About the program
As a Radiology Apprentice, you will receive hands-on experience supporting imaging departments while learning foundational radiology workflows, patient care standards, and safety practices. This program is designed to support professional growth and exposure to imaging careers within Northwestern Medicine, under the guidance of experienced radiology professionals.
What you'll do
Key Responsibilities:Start of Shift
- Stock and organize Galter rooms and supply cart.
- Check equipment (AED, BP machine, VRI iPad) and logs.
- Print fluoro schedules and review requisitions.
- Ensure rooms are fully equipped and ready for patients.Daily Responsibilities
- Track patient flow and provide wait time updates.
- Escort patients and assist with room turnover.
- Maintain cleanliness and supplies in dressing and exam rooms.
- Monitor equipment, supplies, and facility needs (submit tickets as needed)
- Manage fluoro schedules, requisitions, and exam follow-up.
- Support inpatient workflows, including order verification and coordination with nursing/techs.
- Assist with portables, red bin handling, and ensuring patient safety protocols are followed.End of Shift
- Restock and organize all rooms.
- Dispose of soiled linen and clean workspace.
- Provide a thorough handoff on pending exams and updates.
