Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic Operations Manager who can manage multiple priorities in a highly collaborative customer-centric environment. This role is crucial for leading a diverse team, including Operations Associates, Drivers, and Administrative Coordinators, and interacting with other internal departments and external customers. The primary goal is to provide exceptional customer service through timely order fulfillment and problem resolution while overseeing key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain and improve service quality. Experience managing employees in a unionized environment may be necessary.Responsibilities:• Oversee all aspects of the location, including timely order fulfillment and shipping, receiving, managing working capital (related to Operations), inventory, and quality management systems.• Manage a location that may include multiple warehouse management systems and/or multifaceted customer value-added services.• Actively engage in developing annual budgets for the facility.• Build and maintain a collaborative, safe, secure, and inclusive team, culture, and workplace.• Manage, coach, mentor, hire, and train employees, including performance management.• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and audit standards (e.g., internal controls, ISO 9000).• Manage expense-based profit and loss statement (P&L) to plan.• Drive efficiencies within the facility using LEAN methodologies.• Maintain facility tour-ready standards.• Ensure preventative maintenance of the facility and all equipment (e.g., material handling equipment, wire cutting machines, racking systems, warehouse infrastructure).• Match facility capacities to customer/sales professionals' expectations and work with sales professionals and leadership to ensure alignment with market strategy and accurately set customer expectations.• Collaborate with other support departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Human Resources, and Finance.Qualifications:• High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred• 5+ years of operations experience, specifically in distribution center facilities preferred• Experience managing a group or team of individual contributors and/or indirectly supervising support staff• Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Teams, Power Point)• Ability to effectively communicate in both group and individual settings• Capable of handling multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency• Ability to travel locally 0-15% of the time.
