Program Description
The transitioning soldier will work closely with the Information Technology (IT) Service Team using the experience and skills gained in the service to expand their knowledge of Tier 1 Service Desk operations, system administration, and desktop and end-user support to prepare for a career path in IT. Basic hands-on IT skills are required. Customer interfacing may be required. Positions will require verbal and written communications skills to provide customer service and trouble shooting. May be required to lift items and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Will be provided with appropriate safety training and equipment when required. Will not be required or permitted to work or train in building's or surrounding areas under working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to their health or safety. While our desire is for the transitioned soldier to become a permanent member of our Team, The SkillBridge Program is a priority for COMSO and we understand the need to support of our interns with the transition to post-military life to ensure a smooth transition. This includes assistance with honing interpersonal and communication skills and allowing time for post-military career activities such as resume writing, virtual career fairs, webinars, social media profiles, job searching, interviewing techniques, etc.
