Program Description

The goal of this internship is to provide the intern with the training necessary to successfully graduate into an Industrial Engineer role. By leveraging the intern's experience and Maritech training, a career with Maritech could begin as soon as the intern departs active duty. The primary responsibility for the Intern position is to assist the business in various improvement activities and day to day operations. Intern's will be exposed to the duties of multiple full-time positions, and every effort will be made to match and intern's desired career field (Machining/CNC Programming, Quality Control, Program Management, Engineering, Safety, Purchasing, etc.) to activities in the business that will give them exposure to those areas. Intern's will need to be flexible and self-motivated; duties may change daily depending on current workload. Training Includes: Orientation/Integration/Company Familiarization, Introduction to Manufacturing, Introduction to Process Improvement, Retraining and Evaluation. Industrial Engineer Responsibilities: Responsible for completing all assigned work with a high degree of quality and professionalism, Process Improvements, Configuration Management, Machining, Organization, Project Management, Quality, Shipping and Receiving, and Material Control.

Eligibility

Minimum Qualifications: Highschool diploma or GED required, Trade school or college experience preferred. Must be self-motivated, able to multitask, and detail oriented. General computer and MS Office skills required, General manufacturing, assembly, CNC programming, quality control or machine shop experience preferred. OSHA or general safety training a plus, Forklift certification/training a plus. Physical Requirements: Frequently required to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl. Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard. Frequently required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
