Program Description
As part of our Military Fellowship program, NetApp and specifically the Diversity Equity Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) team will help the military fellow transition to civilian life and work. We will provide them with training and learning opportunities to help bridge the military to civilian transition with focus on DEIB.
Job Description
As part of our Military Fellowship program, NetApp and specifically the Diversity Equity Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) team will help the military fellow transition to civilian life and work. We will provide them with training and learning opportunities to help bridge the military to civilian transition with focus on DEIB.The projects will include (but limited to) weekly calls to learn about and help our Employee Resource Groups (EBRGs), help leading monthly Heritage Months, and helping with Professional & Leadership Development of our EBRG members.The military fellow will have 8am-5pm working hours Monday-Friday, however the role has global inputs so at times they may work before and/or after “typical” working hours. The individual will be provided with a laptop. NetApp has offices everywhere so the military fellow can visit as often as is needed for the program requirements.NetApp has brought on many military fellows to date from when we started the program with our first coming onboard in February 2020 with the CTO of Special Operations Command out of Ft Liberty NC.Timeline (actual dates can be adjusted based on start date):· Everyday· The military fellow will have a veteran mentor / buddy assigned through our “NetVets” community which they can ask questions to, learn from, etc. This mentor will not be a member of the DEIB team.· The military fellow can join the NetVets community and interact with hundreds of veterans who are now NetApp employees.· The military fellow will have a mentor assigned by me (Trent Peterson, their manager)· The military fellow will have real world job-shadowing daily by some of the best and brightest minds in the business, as well as at least two projects to manage on their own.· The military fellow will have dedicated HR and Talent Acquisition professional support to help with questions about transition, recruitment in private sector, and to be an ambassador for them.
Eligibility
Please note, to apply for a Military Fellowship role, pre-approval from your Leadership/Unit Commander is required. Official Command approval is required to be accepted into our program.
