Program Description

The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation has established an industry-training program that help transitioning Service members enhance the skills they acquired during their military service. This is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. The program aims to provide basic experience in a restaurant work environment that will equip Service members to successfully enter into a restaurant manager DOL registered apprenticeship program or be directly hired in the restaurant or food service industry. The primary focus of this program are: Front of the House Knowledge/Service Culture; Back of the House/Restaurant Kitchen Knowledge; Product Quality and Cost Control; and Branding and Marketing. Once program is complete, the Service member can be placed in an apprenticeship program or offered a full-time position at any location around the country.
